Default Stains Walkthrough
Here you can manage default stains for each pathology group and for ancillary tests.
Click on your name to activate the drop-down menu. Select “Default Stains.”
Ancillary Test Default Stains
Default stain/slide orders can also be preset for various ancillary test workflows. If default stains are set for an ancillary test, BxLink will automatically create slide orders using the presets identified here whenever the ancillary test is ordered on an encounter.
To add a new default stain simply select the desired ancillary test from the drop-down menu.
Then select the desired stain from the dropdown menu and click the plus sign to add the default stain order to the list.
The default stain order will appear above. The same steps apply to the “Urology Special Testing” tab.
Managing Default Stains for Pathology Groups
Manage stains associated to specific biopsy types for pathology groups here. Select the pathology group for which you want to edit default stains. Default slide/stain labels are automatically printed when the RFID is scanned. Each procedure type can have a unique set of default stains assigned to it.
Only pathology groups that share an enabled license with the lab are shown. If a pathology group is missing, a license may have been disabled.
Select the biopsy type from the list at the top for which you want to assign a default stain.
To assign a new stain, select the desired stain from the dropdown, then click on the blue “plus button.”
If the dropdown list does not contain a stain that is needed, please contact LUMEA to have it added as an option.
The default assigned stains will appear at the top
